Training Office

The New London Police Department Training Office is responsible for ensuring the employees of the New London Police Department are in compliance with applicable State and Federal mandated training requirements. Other functions of the Training Office include:

  • Organizing Internal Training 
  • Coordinating with other agencies in regards to joint training opportunities
  • Liaising with the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC)
  • Organizing (in conjunction with the City Personnel Office) hiring processes to include, civilian, entry-level sworn and certified sworn hiring processes.
  • Supervising recruits currently attending training academies
  • Serving as a point of contact with retired Officers for LEOSA purposes
