Upon vessel arrival the captain / operator may contact the Dock Master at Marine Channel 9 or 860-443-3786.

 

The City of New London's Waterfront Park offers: vessels trash removal and pump-out services, use of our coin-operated laundry machines, and secure head and shower facilities (access code obtainable from the Dock Master). Prior arrangements may also be made for electricity and water requirements. Simply contact our Dock Master for these services, and inquire about other boater conveniences and services available in the community. Please provide ample notice to facilitate arrangement of utilities.  Some fees and restrictions may apply.

Prohibited at Waterfront Park are: Diving and jumping from piers, vessel rafting from docks and moorings, skateboard riding on structures and benches, and vehicles of any kind without permission of the Dock Master. By city ordinance, open containers of alcoholic beverages are prohibited on city-owned property, but these may be enjoyed responsibly onboard your vessel. During major events and in cooperation with the New London Police Department, please be advised that coolers, backpacks, or strollers will NOT be allowed to enter Waterfront Park. There will be checkpoints before entering the waterfront. During major events like Sailfest, please leave your pets onboard your vessel.

Reservations: At any time of the year a vessel may apply for reservations for regular docking or seasonal mooring. The Dock Master has discretion on accepting or denying reservations for docking or mooring vessels at Waterfront Park.

24-HOUR CANCELLATION

Reservations for Docking, Mooring, and Event Rental Policy of the NLPA requires you give timely notice. This notice must arrive directly to the Dock Master 24-hours before your reserved expected arrival date and time. It must be made either by speaking directly with the Dock Master by phone, or by presenting a timely written notice at the Dockmaster’s office. The Dock Master and the NLPA are not liable for any delay in mail service. Any refund or credit applied upon proper notice will be in the form of credit towards future reservations for the current season.  No modification or waiver to this refund/credit policy may be made without applying to the NLPA.

If you make prior arrangements, some will deliver to a land address such as the municipal parking area adjacent to Waterfront Park accessible from Water Street Extension near Custom House Pier and our mooring field. State and Bank streets transform into evening music venues with sounds that will beckon you off your boat like sirens.    

You can find micro beers, wine and cheese on State St., or  visit the Co-op on Broad Street for organics, dry goods and seasonal produce. Need ice? There are several convenience stores in walking distance. Stock up on fair trade merchandise on Bank St., then take in a movie, broadway show, or event at the historic and air conditioned Garde Arts Center on upper State St., or peruse fine art in a plethora of galleries and art institutions. Count your blessings at the local institutions of religion. Every faith is welcome here, and many of the places of worship are historic. Visit our historic public library on Huntington St. or the independent bookstore on Green St. for voyage reading materials. You're a boater; consider getting a tattoo downtown. Get lost in time on an independent historical stroll, or take a guided tour of historic architecture, monuments, museums...
