What Goes Where?
There are five trash/recycling routes, one for each day of the week. Each day three Solid Waste and two recycling vehicles collect material, which is compacted at the City’s transfer station and hauled to Lisbon trash to energy plant (Solid Waste) and Cassella Recycling in Willimantic. A staff of 14 performs collection and dispoal of material and management of the City’s Transfer Station at 63 Lewis Street.
The solid waste and recycling division of public works provides weekly curbside collection of refuse, recycling, and seasonal waste (leaves, holiday trees).
The normal collection of refuse and recycling will be delayed by one (1) day following the listed holidays, with Friday’s pick-up moved to Saturday.
