Registrars of Voters

The election functions of the City of New London are administered by the Office of the Registrars of Voters whose responsibilities and duties are governed by the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut. The Office is administered jointly by a Democratic and a Republican Registrar who are appointed by their respective Town Committees. The principal duties of the Registrars are to maintain records of eligible voters, supervise primaries and elections, and uphold the State election laws as governed by the Election Division of the Secretary of the State.

 

2026 Election Dates

GENERAL ELECTION: State Offices

 TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3
Governor and Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Representative, Secretary of the State, Treasurer, Comptroller, Attorney General, and Judge of Probate
Early Voting will be held October 19 through November 1 for this election.

If required, a Primary would be held on Tuesday, August 11 with Early Voting running from August 3 through August 9.

New London currently has three voting districts and associated polling locations.
  1. District 01:
    New London STMH High School

  2. District 02: Formerly the polling location for this district was Harbor School. Because of the building's closure, potential new locations are currently under consideration to be determined by the Registrars of Voters and will be announced soon.
