Neighborhood Academy
Empowering Residents. Strengthening Community. Bridging the Gap.
The Neighborhood Academy is an educational initiative of the City of New London designed to provide residents with direct insight into the City’s departmental operations. The Academy exists to empower residents to become informed, confident, and effective community leaders.
Through this 8-week civic engagement experience, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how local government functions - from departmental services and budgeting to policy implementation and decision-making processes.
This is more than a class — it is an opportunity to build relationships, foster transparency, and strengthen trust between residents and City leadership.
